Abstract

Using the Java TM Management Extensions (JMX TM) API for Monitoring and Management

The Java TM Management Extensions (JMX TM) API is part of the core Java plaform starting with Java 2 Platform, Standard Edition (J2SE TM) 5.0. It is also present in Java 2 Platform, Enterprise Edition (J2EE TM) 1.4. This talk discusses how to use the JMX API to add monitoring and management to your applications. The session shows how to use the J2SE release 5.0 classes to provide an end-to-end monitoring and management solution. It also gives a preview of what's in store for version 2.0 of the JMX API, currently being defined by JSR 255.
