Joakim Dahlstedt is the CTO of the Java Runtime Products Group at BEA. He has been actively working on runtime systems and dynamic optimizations since the early 1990s. He has a Master of Computer Science from the Royal Institute of Technology (KTH) in Stockholm. He is one of the founders of the JRockit JVM in 1998, that later was acquired by BEA. Joakim divides his time between JVM development and making people within BEA as well as outside aware what the JVM can really do. He is currently based in Stockholm, Sweden.
