Abstract

"On the Internet, nobody knows you're a dog,'' says the New Yorker cartoon. For certain applications, such as browsing the Amazon website or downloading a story from the BBC, it doesn't matter that the source doesn't know who you really are. For others, such as accessing health-care information or in mobile enterprise computing, it is. In this talk, I will discuss new industry paradigms to solve this problem, and the social and policy issues that arise from these potential solutions.
