Abstract EJB 3 Simplified Components
EJB 3.0 provides a new, simplified programming model for the most
common server-side application components in use today--session and
message-driven beans. The EJB 3.0 effort has not only made these
components easier to use but has also added both flexibility and power
to the EJB programming model. This talk will provide an overview of
the simplified EJB 3.0 component programming model, the role played by
metadata annotations in this simplification, and new features that
have been introduced to facilitate more complex applications.
Topics discussed will include:
- Overview of the EJB 3.0 simplified API
- The role of metadata annotations in EJB 3.0
- Bean classes and business interfaces
- Local and remote access
- Dependency injection and acquiring resources
- Stateless and Stateful session bean model
- Interceptors and life cycle callbacks
- Simplifications to the client-side programming model
- Interoperability with EJB 2.1 components
- Usage with EJB persistence API
