JavaSpaces is probably what you'd invent if you were asked to design a Java-based services architecture. It's truly distributed, lightweight, works through Spring, integrates with Mule, hosts C24's Integration Objects. GigaSpaces have bought JavaSpaces from it's early days in the late 90s through to one of today's leading grid solutions.
