Abstract

This purpose of this session will be to lead the audience in a tutorial that will help them gain an in-depth understanding of the concepts, syntax, and capabilities of JavaFX Script (both interpreted and compiled). Some of the content will be based upon the book written by the speaker entitled "JavaFX Script: Dynamic Java Scripting for Rich Internet/Client-Side Applications" http://www.apress.com/book/view/1590599454. Topics covered in this session will include:

An introduction to JavaFX, including the product family (JavaFX Script, JavaFX Mobile, and J6UN)

Features, advantages, and current status of JavaFX Script

JavaFX Script development environment choices

JavaFX Script code examples and demonstrations that progressively build on each other to teach JavaFX Script concepts such as syntax, keywords, operators, sequences, classes, widget and 2D graphical libraries, binding to a model, and application architecture.
