Test Driven Development: Beyond the Acronyms

Abstract

Test Driven Development, or TDD, is no news for the community of agile software development but it's only recently that TDD has gained more widespread popularity and adoption. Over the years, practitioners have developed the practice, created their own style of writing tests, and given new names to the technique, highlighting particular aspects of it. Test Driven Development, Test First Programming, Test Driven Design. Some have even gone as far as dropping the word "test" from the name altogether, coining the term Behavior Driven Development. Along with an introduction to the fundamental ideas behind TDD, this session gives you insight into the different kinds of variations to the practice, and guidance for doing it right and proper.
